Junior Team Success Continues

Following their success earlier this year in the Junior National Championship, the Wakefield Junior Team continued to show that they are a force to be reckoned with in their second successive championship win at the Richard Dunn sports Centre in Bradford on July 1st 2007.

In a nail biting finale to a very close and competitive event, the club took the Junior Open Club trophy away from their nearest rivals Leeds by just 2 points.

Their successes also included the Under 10s Team trophy, the Under 12s Team Trophy and the best individual trophy in the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 18 categories.

One parent commented that it is good to see that "the hard work and dedication put in by the team members [the largest ever team entry by Wakefield] and their coaching staff is starting to pay dividends."

As usual the conduct and sportsmanship displayed throughout the day was exemplary and a credit to all the clubs that took part in the competition.

Wakefields success makes them the team to beat and they will need to show the same skill, effort and determination in the next competition if they are to continue with their winning streak.

The full results are listed below and a gallery of photographs of the team in action can be viewed by clicking on the following link (Junior Open Gallery).
